I had mixed feelings about my stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott Baton Rouge South. While the staff was polite and accommodating, and the hotel was generally clean, I found the hotel itself in need of updates and repairs. The breakfast options were also disappointing compared to previous visits, which added to my dissatisfaction.

Rooms
6.0
The room I received wasn't a suite as expected; it was just a bed with a couch and desk. I also found it dated, with old stains on the carpet and a mini fridge that was dented. During my stay, the bathroom had a broken shower handle and a mildew-covered shower liner, which was quite unsanitary.
Service
8.0
The staff was very friendly and attentive, addressing my concerns when I reported issues like the noisy neighbors. Their efforts to resolve problems were commendable, which made my stay more pleasant.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is convenient, close to the Mall of Louisiana and various restaurants. This made it easy to explore the area and find dining options.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast has definitely gone downhill; the options included a rubbery quiche and pre-packaged sandwiches similar to those found in gas stations. In the past, there were better choices like real eggs and meats.
Facilities
6.0
While the common areas were pleasant, the hotel requires some upgrades, especially considering the price point. I noticed signs of wear and tear, and the pool renovation suggested they might be planning improvements.

6.2/10

My stay at Springhill Suites By Marriott Baton Rouge South was mixed. While the staff were friendly and accommodating, the state of the rooms left a lot to be desired. I encountered issues like a dirty shower liner and broken fixtures that made my experience less enjoyable. Overall, the hotel has great potential due to its location and service but needs significant improvements to meet standards.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was spacious, but it was not as clean as I expected. I noticed the shower liner was covered in mildew and some fixtures were broken. My room was also not serviced during my entire day out, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
The staff were responsive and polite during my stay, which made me feel welcomed. However, I did not receive follow-up communication regarding my maintenance requests, leaving me wanting more from the service.
Location
8.0
The location is convenient, close to the campus and several dining options, including the Mall of Louisiana, making it easy to get around the area.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast selection was decent, but I had an odd experience trying to get fruit shortly before closing time. Overall, I think they could improve on food service aspects.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers good amenities, but the absence of a pool was disappointing as it is a common family attraction. Other facilities were functional, but could use an update.

During my stay at Springhill Suites By Marriott Baton Rouge South, I appreciated the friendly staff and comfortable bed, which allowed for a good night's sleep. However, I found issues like the strange room layout and some cleanliness concerns that detracted from my experience. Based on this visit, I am not entirely sure if I'd stay here again in the future.

The staff were friendly and responsive, notably helping me with my key issues when it wouldn’t work. However, the inconsistencies regarding the room type I received left much to be desired.
Location

The location is convenient, being close to I-10 and several attractions. This made it easy for me to navigate during my stay, especially when traveling.
Dining

I found the breakfast offerings disappointing compared to previous visits, as there was a decline in quality with rubbery quiche and gas-station-style sandwiches.

The pool and fitness center were enticing features, but it was disappointing to find the pool was closed during my stay. The workout area was well-equipped, which was a nice touch.

My stay at Springhill Suites was a mix of positives and negatives. While the room was spacious and the beds comfortable, I faced some issues with cleanliness and amenities, which impacted my overall experience significantly. The location was convenient for my needs, but I expected more from the service and facilities during my stay.

Rooms

The room I was given was spacious, which I appreciated (lots of room to move!). However, I noticed it wasn't as clean as I expected and had a couple of maintenance issues that weren't addressed satisfactorily.

The staff tried to be helpful, but my requests weren't fully accommodated. I did leave a message about the room issues, but no follow-up occurred, which was disappointing.

5.6/10

My stay at Springhill Suites was a mixed bag. On one hand, the location was super convenient, and the room was clean, which was a plus. But, the walls were incredibly thin, making it hard to sleep with all the noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms. I felt uneasy with how staff entered my room without a heads-up, dampening my overall vibe about the hotel.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean and nice, but the walls were paper-thin, leading to noisy nights. I could hear conversations in the hall at 1 AM, which was frustrating.
Service
5.0
Though the front desk staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating, I wasn’t comfortable with how staff accessed my room unannounced, which made me feel a bit unsafe.
Location
7.0
The hotel's proximity to I-10 and local attractions was great for my travel plans, making it easy to get around Baton Rouge.
Dining
5.0
I was bummed to find that the advertised hot breakfast buffet wasn’t available, which was a letdown since I was really looking forward to it.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities were okay, but the pool was closed, and I wish they had updated their website to reflect that. The check-in process was smooth, though.
